Alan Wake developer Remedy has announced that it is bringing the reboot of its destructive racer Death Rally – recently released on Android and iOS platforms – over to Steam. This isn’t a mere port, however, Remedy touts that the title has been “entirely rebuilt for PC,” sporting a new rendering engine, as well as improved camera and controls. The title also boasts co-op support, allowing players to engage in all sorts of destructive mayhem with friends.

PC players can also look forward to an exclusive track — “Savo” — and the return of “Shadow Man” from the 1996 original.

“Our PC fans have been clamoring for Death Rally and it’s time we finally bring it there. It’s been fantastic getting the game back to PC with the help of our development partners,” said Remedy CEO Matias Myllyrinne.

Priced at a reasonable $9.99, Death Rally will debut on Steam August 3.

Charging 10 times as much for the PC version which was probably much easier to develop than the iOS version and the (free) Android version seems like a rip off.
