An FCC filing has landed on the good ol’ internet, and it may suggest that a hardware revision is in the works for the PlayStation 3. Most of the text documents are rife with confidentiality mumbo jumbo, but what really stands out about the filing is the image pictured above.
Could this be a new PlayStation 3 model? Are we getting yet another slimline revision, or rather, a slimmer slimline revision? Or could this all just be yet another patent filing that will probably never see the light of day? You know, one of those things the folks over at Sony contemplate on but never actually release.
According to Develop, a new PlayStation 3 model is underway, and it is supposedly going to be revealed at Gamescom. Whether any of this is true remains to be seen as Sony has yet to confirm anything at all. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see.
