Ratchet & Clank Collection Launch Date Announced

Developer Insomniac has revealed the release date for the upcoming Ratchet & Clank Collection. As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the compilation, which collects the first three games in the series, will land in retailers and on the PlayStation Network on August 28. Ratchet & Clank Collection will be priced at $29.99.

The three games are being boosted with HD visuals, 3D support, and Trophies. Additionally, the online multiplayer in Up Your Arsenal will be a fully featured component. So if you didn’t get the chance to enjoy that aspect of the game on the PlayStation 2, you’ll now get to do exactly that. Ratchet: Deadlocked wasn’t included in Insomniac’s announcement, but when the subject was brought up by a commenter, the developer replied, “We’ll have some added info on that in the near future.”

In addition to Ratchet & Clank Collection, we’ve still got Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault to look forward to later this year. The game will be a PlayStation Network exclusive, and Insomniac has stated that it will feature gameplay tropes new and old. In the meantime, however, that Ratchet & Clank Collection is looking mighty enticing right about now!
