Tearaway – New IP from Media Molecule Announced

by Justin B. on August 14, 2012 @ 11:24 am

Today at Gamescom 2012, Alex Evans from Media Molecule took the stage to show off his studio’s newest title, Tearaway. The PS Vita exclusive is a 3D platformer that takes place inside a paper-crafted world. The entire environments and characters are all paper-like. Your job is to escort a messenger, Iota, through the dangerous world and eventually reach the real world where he will deliver you an important message.

The game utilizes the several unique aspects of the Vita, including the rear touch panel, front touch panel, microphone and both cameras. You’ll be able to poke your finger up through the fragile paper world and interact with the world’s elements and enemies. It’s great to see a unique new IP come to the Vita although no word on a release date or window yet. Check out the announcement trailer after the break.

Yeah I should probably include the trailer since it's available now. Really hard to tell how a game plays from the screenshots, especially this one.
