Check Out 10 Glorious Minutes of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

Yesterday at PAX Prime, Hideo Kojima revealed that the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes would be a prologue to Metal Gear Solid 5. Other than that, he didn’t reveal much information on the upcoming project. He did, however, mention that it would be an open world game, which is super intriguing.

Ten minutes of footage from the game have popped up on the good ol’ internet, and my goodness is this video impressive! Seriously, just check it out and see for yourself. If you’re a fan of the series, it goes without saying that you’ll probably get ridiculously stoked for the game. But even if you haven’t been following Metal Gear Solid that long, you should definitely check this video out.

Ground Zeroes runs on the Fox Engine, as revealed by Kojima. From the looks of it, I wholeheartedly admit that I’m pretty damn impressed. At the end of the trailer, I was left wanting to see more: more cutscenes, more gameplay, more of what the Fox Engine can do. Ground Zeroes has all the potential in the world to be huge.

If this is running on a modern "High end" PC. They could've at least managed to get decent AA running with it. :(

And like they said, you can see how it was designed with the PS3/360 in mind. (Some low res textures, normal/bump/specular/etc maps. No AA. Hard to tell if X16 AF is in use. Something developers seem to completely ignore or forget about when showcasing on PC)

I just hope it comes out on PC with 5.1/7.1 surround support!

Considering Konami is bringing Castlevania LoS 2 over I think there's a good chance of it hitting PC. Japanese studios are starting to embrace the PC more. Probably won't be a simultaneous release, though, but I'm fine with that.

Trigun says:

Me neither. As long as we get it, I will be happy.

The chance to bypass the limitations of the consoles for higher IQ (AF/AA)and being able to choose whether I want 60 or 30 FPS for LOS2 and GZ would be absolutely amazing. Especially considering GZ looks already amazing as it is being tailored for PS3/360 specs. And the first LOS was absolutely astonishing bar badly compressed bink video and some frame rate issues.
