MGS: Ground Zeroes World Has Loading Screens, Day/Night Cycle

Metal Gear Solid creator and Kojima Productions director Hideo Kojima has revealed some new information about the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Speaking to Eurogamer, Kojima stated that the open world in the stealth-action game will include loading screens. I’m not certain about this, but do loading screens still bug people? I mean, this is an open world, so really, I find it hard to believe that most people were just expecting some fluid transitions from area to area.

Kojima also announced that Ground Zeroes would feature a day-and-night cycle. Now, unlike the whole loading screen thing, I’m almost certain no one’s going to complain about this. The director explained that players will have the chance to have a different experience traveling through the game’s world in the day and at night. For example, enemy troop patterns will be different, which would encourage players to plan out different attack strategies.

Ground Zeroes definitely looks like an absolutely lovely title. The addition of an open world and a day-and-night cycle will likely only add to the sheer scope of the Fox engine-powered game. Here’s hoping Kojima continues to treat us with little bits of information on Ground Zeroes moving forward because it’s great learning a bit more about this potentially awesome game with every passing week.

Loading or loading screens? To mean, loading on the fly with pauses here and there when entering new areas make sense... but loading screens? That's not something I've seen in open world games. In fact, when I think 'open world games' I assume things like loading screens wouldn't exist.

Say, Fallout for example, yes you loaded in towns/buildings, but the map was open except for that. Is that what Kojima means?
