New Look for PlayStation Store This October

Alongside the announcement of a smaller and lighter PS3, the Australian PlayStation site has let slip that a complete revamp of the PlayStation Store is slated for October.

“To tie in with the launch, PlayStation Store for PS3 is set to get a new look from October 2012 too, making it even easier for you to find and download the content you love from the comfort of your sofa,” reads a blurb on the site.

Intriguing to say the least. Do you think the PlayStation Store is in need of a makeover? Honestly, I’ve always found the PS3′s store pretty straightforward to navigate, though over the years it has gotten a bit crowded as more categories are added. That being said, the downloads list tied to the store could use some tidying up. Perhaps we’ll finally get a sorting option. Most likely the launch of this redesigned store will coincide with a new firmware update as well.

Are they adding a "Your library" Option? If not then why fucking bother if you aren't going to fix what's broken with it.

More likely, it's going to be to add more "Ad space" like with the 360's dashboard updates that make gaming worse.
