Xenoblade Dev Working on Wii U Project, Looks Like More Xenoblade

During the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, President Satoru Iwata revealed that a new project was in the works from Monolith Soft. The developer previously worked on Xenoblade Chronicles, which was localized on the Wii last year and gained plenty of acclaim from JRPG aficionados.

While no title was revealed for this new game, a trailer showed a sprawling fantasy world akin to the one seen in Xenoblade Chronicles. The whole thing looks quite appealing, and the use of HD visuals could definitely mean that the game will be a visual treat. Hell, Xenoblade Chronicles was a visual treat despite not being HD!

Character designer Kunihiko Tanaka, composer Hiroyuki Sawano, and director Tetsuya Takahashi are all playing major roles in the development of what appears to be the next chapter in the Xenoblade saga. A cool-looking JRPG with nice music and a rich world on the Wii U? Sure, we’ll take it!
