Today EA has announced a new entry in the Need for Speed series entitled Need for Speed RivalsRivals is being developed by Ghost Games, a new game studio at EA, with the help of Criterion Games. Similar to the Hot Pursuit games, Rivals will pit cops against racers – allowing the player to choose which path they want to take.

In addition,  EA also announced that for the first time in seven years Ferrari cars will be represented within the game. The game also features a new feature called “AllDrive” which blurs the line between singleplayer and multiplayer. Friends will be able to join and exit your races on-the-fly, providing unique and dynamic races where you could find yourself competing against your friends at any moment.

Need for Speed Rivals is scheduled to be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 19th while the Xbox One and PS4 editions are set for release “later this year.” Ghost Games executive producer Marcus Nilsson has also stated that the PC version will look “as good” as the next generation versions.
