Rayman Legends - Xbox One, PS4

Last month, Ubisoft revealed that sales figures for Rayman Legends were below the company’s expectations. That’s quite a shame, because the game is actually really great, and more people should totally play it. Ubisoft is hoping more folks get in on the fun on next-gen consoles as Legends will be available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

As indicated on IGN, Ubisoft issued an earnings call and revealed that the limbless hero’s latest adventure would be available on Microsoft and Sony’s new crop of consoles sometime in February 2014. According to CEO Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft is looking to increase sales on the new consoles once the holiday rush kicks in.

“The PS4 and Xbox One will be released in a few days’ time and will be a new driving force for the industry,” said Guillemot. “We are confident in our capacity to rise to the short-term challenges posed by the transition phase, thanks to the very high quality of our games, which, combined with the upcoming arrival of the next-generation consoles and the traditional ramp-up of sales during the Christmas season will trigger positive momentum towards the end of the year.”

Here’s hoping more people pick up Legends, because it really is an awesome platformer. Currently, the game is available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Vita, Wii U, and PC (and possibly the Commodore 64). Soon you’ll be able to add two more platforms to that list.
