Nintendo Looking Into GBA Games on Virtual Console

The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap

Nintendo’s Virtual Console is a constantly undulating digital shop as far as content and quality are concerned. Sometimes we see good games get rereleased, and sometimes we see bad games get rereleased. Other times we see absolutely no games, which can be quite problematic if you’re a retro game aficionado. It looks like Nintendo has plans to release more old school content down the road, this time from the Game Boy Advance catalog.

In addition to Game Boy Advance titles, it also seems that Nintendo hopes to release Game Boy Color games and possibly even DS games. The information was revealed on Tumblr by a Natsume community manager, though not much else was clarified.

It wasn’t too long ago that Nintendo kicked off its Ambassador Program for early 3DS adopters. The campaign rewarded its early install base with Game Boy Advance games including Metroid Fusion, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. It’s good to know that we’ll potentially see these titles available to a wider audience. I mean, I still have yet to play Minish Cap!
