Sony sent out word that the PlayStation 4 had managed to surpass 6 million sales across the world as of March 2. This news comes following a previous report that the PlayStation 4 had sold over 300,000 units in Japan.

It’s worth noting that these figures don’t represent the number of units shipped to retailers, but rather the actual number of consoles sold to consumers. In addition, software sales at retailers and through digital downloads reached 13.7 million.

The PlayStation 4 first launched in North America on November 15, 2013.
