The last time we reported anything regarding Lollipop Chainsaw here on eXophase was back in 2012, when the game had reportedly shipped 700,000 units. A record high for developer Grasshopper Manufacture at the time, the studio now has another reason to celebrate as Lollipop Chainsaw has hit one million worldwide sales.

The company made the major announcement on the game’s Japanese website. In addition, the news was shared on Grasshopper’s official Twitter account.

In commemoration of the respectable feat, Grasshopper is selling digital copies of Lollipop Chainsaw at a discounted price in Japan. Even despite the exclusivity of the sale, if you’re a fan of Suda51’s offbeat action games, there’s definitely a reason to crack a smile following this news.

I had a great time playing Lollipop Chainsaw. It’s not the deepest game around, but it’s filled with off-kilter humor, rad music, fun voice acting, and an entertainingly absurd story. If you’ve yet to play it, you totally should — it definitely makes for a fun time.
