It’s been two days since the launch of Dark Souls II on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In that time, a ridiculously high amount of player deaths have been tallied on the game’s official death counter.

So what’s the magic number? Well, thus far, more than two million player deaths have been recorded in Dark Souls II on the Xbox 360. Meanwhile the total has surpassed four million for PlayStation 3 players. That’s right, over six million players have met their demise within the haunting world of Dark Souls II.

A few kinks need to worked out on the death counter website. For starters, the number of players listed to have cleared the game on the Xbox 360 is up to nearly 17,000, while only three PlayStation 3 users are reported as having gotten to the end. Still, it’s great to see so many people immersed in the world of this beautifully hellish game.
