The Last of Us

It’s no secret that PlayStation 4 owners have been clamoring for The Last of Us. Having found major success on the PlayStation 3, Naughty Dog’s latest award-winning endeavor has garnered a massive fan base. Well, if recent reports are any indication, The Last of Us could indeed be on its way to the PlayStation 4.

Turkish gaming website Multiplayer reports that Sony Eurasia Software Marketing Manager Sercan Sulun told CNN Turk that the game would arrive to Sony’s newest machine this summer. Obviously, this contradicts previous statements by Naughty Dog that there were no plans for a port.

As indicated by a translation provided by IGN, though, Sulun stated, “There is no information about a new The Last of Us game, but I can share this knowledge: as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4 — both on PSN and physically. The PS4 version will also include the DLC, so you will be able to play Left Behind as well.”

Joystiq reached out to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe regarding the matter, but the company was quick to turn down any word of The Last of Us on the PlayStation 4, saying, “At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore have nothing to say on the subject.”

Talk of The Last of Us on the PlayStation 4 has been going around for months. Whether or not it’ll happen still isn’t a sure thing, but that glimmer of hope is certainly growing into a much brighter glow. At the very least, a PlayStation 4 port seems more likely than a sequel at this point.
