Hudson’s 1989 space age shoot ’em up classic is headed to the Wii’s Virtual Console next Monday, as revealed by Hudson on their Virtual Console game page.

Having played Blazing Lazers on the original TurboGrafx-16, I can safely say that this will be the game to get next week. In the game, players will traverse through nine intricately crafted levels, piloting a ship set out to destroy the enemy space-fleets armada. And what would a shoot ’em up be without power-ups? Blazing Lazers will give you four different weapon types to choose from, namely bullets, waves, rings and lasers, each of which can be upgraded to 5 different levels for dishing out mega damage.

In essence, it’s one of those fast paced vertical shooters that just never get old. Look it for next week on the Wii VC for only 600 Wii Points.
