Death By Cube Splatters Onto Xbox Live Arcade January 20

Square Enix today announced that its blood oil-soaked shooter Death By Cube will hit Xbox Live Arcade on January 20. Drawing inspiration from Robotron, players are tasked with the rudimentary goal of destroying cube shaped enemy robots by any means necessary, rambo-style. The scene in that screenshot above may look as if it is drenched in blood, but Square assures us that it is only red oil. Reeks of a clever guise to garner a less stringent rating from the ESRB, but hey, we’re not complaining.
Players can also take their cube fragging antics online over Live as Death By Cube features a co-op multiplayer mode supporting up to eight players. It’ll set you back 800 Microsoft Points when it hits XBLA on January 20.
