Mass Effect 3 To Utilize Unreal Engine 3
by March 29, 2010 @ 9:36 am

In a hardly surprising revelation, Epic Games VP Mark Rein has confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will utilize Unreal Engine 3, following in the footsteps of its predecessors.
BioWare chose UE3 for the Mass Effect trilogy because they wanted to make an immersive third-person perspective shooter game with sci-fi environments.
This move repents a strong commitment to UE3. As BioWare has been working with it for a few years now, we suppose there’s little reason to break away and switch at this point. Easier to stick with the familiarities from a development standpoint.
