Raystorm HD Hits XBLA May 5

Square Enix today announced that vertical side-scrolling shooter Raystorm HD will hit Xbox Live Arcade on May 5.
A remake of 1996’s arcade original, the frantic shooter returns with its polarizing Lock-On Lasers gameplay mechanic, offering up fully redone visuals with a distinct retro flair across eight stages.
High scores obtained in Ranking Mode, one of the newly-added modes specific to Raystorm HD, can be submitted to an online ranking database for bragging rights. Players can also take to the skies in a new playable spacecraft, dubbed R-GEAR.
The title is scheduled to hit PSN as well, although a release date remains TBA.
