Criterion Dismisses Involvement In Next SSX

EA’s genre-defining snowboarding franchise known as SSX might make a comeback in the future, but it won’t come from the creative minds of Burnout Paradise developer Criterion Games. A company spokesperson today issued a dismissal via Twitter, placing the kibosh on widespread rumors suggesting otherwise:
False I’m afraid. We’re doing this thing called Need for Speed. It’s all about tarmac not snow. We just dig SSX for fun…
There you have it. Criterion has no plans to leave asphalt behind at this point. Still, the possibility that another one of EA’s countless studios or partners are working on current-gen SSX installment remains plausible.
