Sega Calls EA Online Pass A “Clever” Initiative

EA’s project ten dollar initiative has sparked interest amongst several publishers, the likes of which include THQ and Ubisoft. Not surprisingly, it appears that Sega has vested an interest in the fight against secondhand market sales as well.
Sega West prez Mike Hayes has called the methodology behind such a strategy “very clever,” voicing his intent to employ a similar practice going forward.
It is a very clever idea and is something we are certainly taking a look at.
At this rate, it won’t be long before this becomes standard practice in the industry. About time, we say.
