Sony has announced that the PlayStation Move-enhanced edition of Quantic Dream’s narrative-driven thriller Heavy Rain will be deployed as a free update on PSN — provided you own the original. A version of Heavy Rain with the Move bits pre-included will also be available “to buy,” though no indication was given as to if this offering will be a retail release.

Players can complete actions with a greater degree of precision with the Move motion controller at their disposal. To fully experience the Move Edition, however, Move’s Nunchuck-esque navigation controller comes “strongly recommended.” Of course, those on the thrifty side can opt for the less-comfortable choice of using a DualShock 3 pad in one hand.

While a firm release date has yet to be locked down, SCEE says the Move Edition will be out before this Xmas.
