Project Dread Might Still Be A Reality

Remember Metroid Dread? No? Well, unofficially announced back in the June 2005 issue of Game Informer, it was said to be a 2D side-scrolling Metroid romp for the Nintendo DS, in the vein of Metroid Fusion.
Two years have passed and while we still have next to no information on the title (some have even speculated that the game had been canceled or indefinitely delayed), an in-game message in the now-released Metroid Prime 3 has revealed that the title may still be in development.
Experiment status report update: Metroid project ‘Dread’ is nearing the final stages of completion.
Either this is some kind of cruel joke or Metroid Dread is indeed still in development. We’ll hope for the latter.
