[Update: Robert Bowling just tweeted that a more detailed reveal will be coming tomorrow AM (morning).]
According to The Wall Street Journal, Activision Blizzard is currently planning an online subscription service called “Call of Duty Elite”. This monthly subscription service (price unknown) will have a variety of new features, some free and some exclusively as a part of the paid service. Those who opt not to pay will be able to “meet for online gun battles with others who share various affiliations and interests.”
If you however are willing to pay the monthly fee (similar to Bungie Pro), you will gain access to player statistics and other similar player tools to help you analyze your in-game performance. It reminds me of the currnet implemented system in Call of Duty: Black Ops from the description but we can’t be sure. The service will reside on the world wide web, allowing players to access their “Elite” service from anywhere with an internet connection.
