Square Enix has hit 15 unnamed Italian individuals with a lawsuit under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act over the recent leak of a preview build for Deus Ex: Human Revolution on PC. The implicated suspects are accused of hacking into the server of a Italian-based games magazine, which housed the files per an NDA arrangement.
IP addresses associated with individuals not linked to the mag were discovered in server logs, pointing to an intrusion.
Square Enix is seeking damages in excess of $5000, citing the subsequent upload of Deus Ex to public P2P networks after the hack.
Human Revolution is due out across PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 in August.
