Gears 3 Supports Stereoscopic 3D

You can add Gears of War 3 to the list of Xbox 360’s small yet growing library of stereoscopic 3D supported titles, joining Crysis 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

“It’s still fledgling technology. It’s still a niche feature. But it was something we could support, so we felt, why not?” executive producer Rod Fergusson told Eurogamer.

“It felt like something we wanted to have. It was a feature we didn’t want to be deficient in. When you look at Gears 1, it was what people used to demo HD at the time.”

The feature comes with one caveat for those fortunate enough to take advantage of it. As the stereoscopic render path on 360 does not currently output at full 720p, the visuals will look more jaggy than usual. Epic says the difference is “not huge,” however.
