IGN has the exclusive on Midway and Surreal Software’s next big title, This is Vegas. The game is an entry into the popular open-world genre, taking place in – you guessed it – Vegas.

The game finds Vegas in trouble. A megalomaniac with a fat pocket book is trying to turn the adult’s only city into something that’s more family friendly. The only way to stop him and restore order is to do everything you would deny doing upon returning from Vegas to your loving wife and kids. That means gigs with shady fellows, reviving clubs with spectacular parties, ensuring that the gambling odds are in your favor, and a few fist fights along the way.

Sounds like another sandbox-style game in the vein of Grand Theft Auto, but it may have potential. This is Vegas is scheduled for a Fall 2008 release on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
