Bethesda: Prey 2 Delayed Over Quality Concerns
by April 19, 2012 @ 12:59 pm

Despite rumors to the contrary, Prey 2 has not been cancelled. Bethesda issued a statement today announcing that the title has instead been delayed outside of 2012.
The company says development “has not progressed satisfactorily this past year,” with quality standards not quite up to snuff. Bethesda remains committed to releasing a polished, AAA-quality product, assuring fans that corners will not be cut to meet a release schedule. As such, a revised release window was not given.
“Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans. We have made a substantial investment in game development to deliver the experience fans want. We are determined only to release the AAA game that fans rightfully expect, and are unwilling to compromise our quality standards to meet a release schedule, ” reads the statement.
