Rocksteady’s Next Batman Game Won’t Be Penned by Paul Dini

Paul Dini is one hell of a writer. His work across Batman: The Animated Series, several comic books, and the Arkham games proved it, and the creative mind of Dini managed to shine brilliantly across these works. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the famed writer will be returning to Rocksteady’s series of Batman titles.

” Kinda hoped I’d be doing another Arkham game in London during the Olympics. Esp, as I had a good source for tx. Ah, well,” tweeted Dini. The writer went on to answer some fan tweets, saying that he would love to write another Batman game, but that it wasn’t up to him. That’s a damn shame, especially when you take into consideration just how outstanding the two Arkham games were.

Rockstar’s next foray into the dark and twisted world of Gotham City’s Dark Knight is rumored to take influence from the Silver Age of comic books. While this has yet to be confirmed, if it does turn out to be true, we’re in store for a colorful — and probably campy — Batman game. It would have been cool to see Dini at the helm once more; it’s kind of disappointing that that’s not the case.
