It looks like the Wii U is getting a a Yoshi game. At least that’s what a listing on Best Buy’s Canadian website indicates. Yoshi’s Land as it’s titled is priced at $59.99, available for pre-order, and scheduled to launch by the end of 2013.

According to the product description, Yoshi’s upcoming adventure will feature touchscreen functionality and Miiverse integration. That’s about all we know so far, and admittedly, the idea of a brand new Yoshi game on the Wii U is kind of exciting. Here’s hoping Nintendo does some interesting things with the GamePad and makes Yoshi’s Land feel significantly different from current Mario titles.

The original Yoshi’s Island on the SNES was lauded for its beautiful visuals and magnificent platforming gameplay. Will Yoshi’s Land be an extension of that awesomeness? As long as it’s nothing like Yoshi’s Story, it just might be.
