Mega-publisher Electronic Arts has released details on the forthcoming SimCity Creator for the Nintendo DS and Wii. Billed as an all-new experience from the Sims label, the game allows players to “create, enjoy and destroy” their own city.

The Wii edition of the game will feature a user interface tailored towards the unique control capabilities of the Wii Remote, coupled with 13 city styles to explore, ranging from American to Asian themes. Exploring more city styles gives you more “Hero” building options, which are based on iconic landmarks and can help make your city look more distinctive.

In the DS release, players are progressively tasked with constructing a city as it evolves from ancient times into the future. The title will feature four main gameplay modes: Challenge, Free Play, Chance Encounter and Gallery.

SimCity Creator is due on both formats September 19 in Europe, with a North American release following on September 22. Hit the jump for a batch of new screenshots.
