Xbox Durango

Someone by the name of SuperDaE has come forward with some interesting details on Microsoft’s next Xbox, currently code-named Durango. SuperDaE supposedly has access to a development kit and corresponding documents detailing retail capabilities.

According to these newest round of rumors: The Durango will come bundled with a new version of Kinect that is capable of tracking more players and more points on those players. While that’s reassuring news after the lackluster performance of the original, SuperDaE has said that the new Xbox will require the new Kinect to be plugged in before you are able to start-up the Xbox.

The Durango will also feature a 500GB HDD (probably at 5400 RPM if I would have to guess), built-in WiFi and a Blu-ray drive. However, similar to how the PS3 handles game installs, the Durango will also require game installs to the HDD, citing data access restrictions.

In terms of multitasking, something that has been heavily restricted on the console front, the Durango will allow players to suspend games and start up a new application on top. In doing so players will be able to switch back and forth between applications and games without losing their progress.

On the specifications front, the Durango features an 8-core 1.6 GHz CPU, 8GB RAM, 800mhz Direct X 11.x GPU, and various other hardware components that will take strain off of the CPU.
