Developer Combit Studios has revealed that it is currently working on a follow-up to River City Ransom. The game isn’t being called River City Ransom 2, but it’s still an official project.
According to Combit, it’s working closely with Million Co., the company that succeeded original publisher Technos Japan. The partnership means Combit has the rights to create a licensed River City Ransom sequel, which is pretty damn rad.
River City Ransom is considered a NES favorite, though it never got a true sequel. The upcoming endeavor is due out for PC in 2014, and other platforms are currently being considered.
