Out of All Ouya Owners, 27 Percent Have Paid for a Game

Ouya

So the Ouya, am I right? Things aren’t exactly looking amazing for the tiny Android-based console. We previously got software sales figures for games on the Ouya, and now we’ve gotten word (courtesy of Polygon) that only 27 percent of Ouya owners have actually bought games.

While I personally don’t think 27 percent is a massive number, Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman says sales figures will increase. “These numbers will grow as more gamers pick up consoles, and as we attract more developers, and I believe that by the end of the year, we’ll see a few developers telling us they’ve made more than a million dollars on Ouya,” said Uhrman.

Like I’ve said before, it’s hard to see the Ouya really going all that far. Sure, it could have minimal success among smaller circles, but this first month isn’t exactly promising.
