Zelda A Link to the Past

A video capturing side by side footage of both The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and A Link to the Past has been put together by GameXplain. Nintendo previously announced that both titles take place in the same world, but that there will be several differences in the upcoming 3DS game.

Judging from the comparison video, it’s apparent that Nintendo wanted to create a familiar world for longtime fans. There are some differences, however, such as landmarks appearing in one game but not the other and enemies differing between the two games. Additionally, environmental features like water being present in certain areas in one title and not the other fit the whole “these games take place at different time periods” thing Nintendo is going for.

Still, even despite some differences, the setting in A Link Between Worlds is very much the same land traveled in the revered SNES classic. Check out the comparison for yourself below. What do you think?
