Assassin's Creed IV

In news that’s sure to upset some Wii U owners, Ubisoft has confirmed that it has no intentions of releasing any of the DLC slated for release following the launch of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Aw, man, what a bummer!

Several outlets got word of the news, and Joystiq attempted to get info as to exactly why the Wii U version was going to miss out on DLC. Unfortunately, the company offered no elaboration.

Ubisoft was one of the early supports of Nintendo’s latest gaming machine, which makes this move quite peculiar. In addition, though it was delayed a bit, Assassin’s Creed III DLC certainly hit the Wii U, further making this whole thing even weirder.

Obviously, if you own multiple consoles, this isn’t an issue — you can just buy Assassin’s Creed IV on another platform. For those folks who were eagerly anticipating the Wii U version, however, the lack of extra content totally blows.
