Redux Dark Matters

It’s great when developers release games on defunct systems, isn’t it? I mean, the recently released shoot ’em up Redux: Dark Matters gave Dreamcast owners another reason to fire up their ol’ Sega machines. Of course, that leaves a lot of us wanting a game we can’t play. It would appear, however, that developer Rene Hellwig has interest in making the game even more accessible.

Speaking to Nintendo Life, Hellwig expressed his interest in releasing the highly challenging retro-inspired shooter on the Wii U and 3DS eShops after confirming that his other project, Gunlord, would be available on Nintendo’s dual screen handheld. Aside from being easy to do from a developmental standpoint, the dev also stated that Nintendo is great at communicating, making matters less taxing.

“Since we developed the game on PC with HD graphics it will be easy for us to port the game to Nintendo consoles,” said Hellwig. “Nintendo is more straightforward with Indie devs, and we believe that in the coming years Nintendo consoles will be a great place to publish indie games.”

Redux is currently slated for a release on Steam and iOS devices later this year. Here’s hoping the Nintendo eShops are added to that list, too. The world certainly needs more tough-ass shooters.
