The man who brought Final Fantasy to light so many years ago is prepping for a big debut at this year’s Japan Expo in Paris. As reported on Famitsu (thanks, Destructoid!), Hironobu Sakaguchi and his studio Mistwalker will be revealing Terra Battle.

The upcoming game is an RPG, but interestingly, it’ll be a free-to-play mobile offering. A vastly different direction, no doubt, but a definite sign that Sakaguchi and Mistwalker are keeping up with the times.

Terra Battle will be available on iOS and Android devices this September. Thus far, the game’s only been confirmed for release in Japan.
