During Nintendo’s financial results briefing today, Nintendo pres Satoru Iwata shed light on the company’s future and current sales figures. He says Wii production has already been increased and will follow through with 14 million units for the next fiscal year. DS production is reaching record highs of 2.5 million units produced each month. Regardless of their recent success in hardware sales, Iwata states Nintendo’s goal isn’t to push hardware, but to sell software. Nintendo’s long term goal is 300,000,000 units of software sold.
On the Virtual Console forefront, Iwata revealed that 3.3 million Virtual Console titles have been downloaded. In-depth statistics for each game were not given.
And, on a non financial note, Iwata said that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption testers are saying that the current control setup feels very close to a keyboard and mouse.
