The next entry in the Professor Layton series was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, reports Andriasang. The game, which is titled Professor Layton Choubunmei to A no Isan in Japan and translates to Professor Layton and the Legacy of Super Civilization A, will land in 2013 in the land of the rising sun.
Like the previous entry, this Professor Layton title will be available on the 3DS. While we have no idea when the game will come to North America, we should get some info once Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask drops on our side of the globe this October. I always get so amused when I think about just how behind North America is in receiving each entry in Level-5′s charming puzzle series.
According to Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino, the upcoming game will be the last time we see the long-running protagonist as the star of the franchise. What that means is that we may just see the developer continuing to turn out new puzzlers with a similar theme; we just won’t get the iconic top hat-wearing star.
