Last month, Sony quietly dropped word that a completely revamped look for was set to drop for the PlayStation Store in October. Today, we’ve been given the first glimpse of the new digs. The design itself sports a cleaner look, with content separated across distinct tiles.

UI changes include an expandable navigational menu on the left side of the page. Like the current store, content is grouped into specific sections such as “PS3 Games,” “PS3 Add-ons” and so on. The more minimalistic approach should better accommodate content heavy sections of the store. Additionally, Sony has tweaked the Search functionality to allow for autocomplete of queries. It’ll also attempt to fix misspellings where appropriate.

The new PlayStation Store is set to launch October 17 in Europe, with the rollout expanding to US users several days later on October 23. Take a gander at some screen captures below for a closer look.
