Earlier today, Level-5 and Grasshopper Manufacture announced the North American release of Liberation Maiden on the 3DS eShop. The game stars a protagonist named Shoko Ozora who also happens to be the president of New Japan. By piloting a flying mech, she will need to take down imposing threats to aid her land.

Liberation Maiden features what appears to be flying shooter gameplay, and judging from the launch trailer, the experience seems to be filled with fast-paced action. If you dig mech games and aerial shooters, this downloadable title may be right up your alley. It’s available on the eShop starting today for $7.99.

Originally available in Japan and then Europe, Liberation Maiden was part of the GUILD01 multi-game pack that featured titles from multiple developers and was exclusive to Japan. Two titles from that collection that are also expected to launch in North America in the future are Aero Porter and Crimson Shroud.
