Dead Island: Riptide, the spinoff of Deep Silver’s tropical zombie fest, is set to launch in North America on April 23, 2013. The publisher also announced that the game would see a worldwide release just a few days later on April 26.

A special edition version of Riptide will be available at select retailers. This iteration will include an exclusive character skin. Additionally, folks who pre-order the zombie-killing title will get special weapon mods that can’t otherwise be obtained.

We recently learned that Riptide would see the return of the original cast as well as a brand new survivor. It’ll be interesting seeing what this dude or dudette brings to the adventure. If you dug the first Dead Island, be on the lookout for this game when it arrives on the scene next year for $49.99.
