PS2 Original Katamari Damacy Taking Its Brand of Quirky Fun to PS3

Namco Bandai has announced that Katamari Damacy, which was originally available on PlayStation 2 in 2004, will soon be downloadable on PlayStation 3. The game will appear on the PlayStation Network as a PS2 Classic, and according to Siliconera, this news currently only concerns Japan. Drat!
Katamari Damacy was a spectacular hit when it landed on Sony’s previous home platform, and it paved the way for what became a long-running franchise. Having said that, let’s hope this PlayStation 2 original makes its way to the PlayStation Store here in North America. Seriously, that game was awesome.
For now, folks in Japan can definitely look forward to some ball-rolling, crap-collecting, face-melting awesomeness on November 21. Katamari Damacy will be available for 1,200 yen which is just about $15. Hmm … That seems about right. I know I’d certainly pay that sum for some old school Katamari craziness.
