DS3 Micro Transactions Resources

Dead Space 3, according to Eurogamer, will feature micro-transactions within the game to improve player weapons. With the game’s new weapon crafting system, players will have to harvest resources to upgrade their weapons or, as the title suggests, use your hard earned cash in a micro-transaction. There’s no word on pricing yet and no “transaction-exclusive” items or resources.

Dead Space 3 is set to be released on February 5th and a demo is currently available on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

every game seems to just want more and more investment from players lately.

and, what happens if you start a new character, do you have to re-buy everything again?

From the sound of it the micro transactions will allow you to purchase resources which are a one-time-use. Not sure if you can share weapons between characters (probably not) but you can continue with your character through a new game with same items I believe.

I hate seeing "premium" games that cost $60 to begin with and are charging players in-game. It's like the F2P model meets the premium model. They just love taking money from us games (granted I won't use and never use micro-transactions)
