THQ’s Unsold Properties Will Be Sold Off ‘in the Coming Weeks’

THQ is no more. The company has officially dissolved after most of its studios and franchises were sold off in an auction yesterday. Sadly, no one bid on Darksiders developer Vigil Games, forcing that studio to close down. So what’s going to happen to the unsold franchises like Darksiders and Red Faction? According to the final president of THQ Jason Rubin, those IPs will be sold off “in a separate process.”

“There will be a separate process to sell off the back catalog and IP,” Rubin told Game Informer in an interview. “That process will take place in the coming weeks.”

It’s a bit of a shame that it had to come to this, especially when you consider how great the Darksiders series is. Red Faction was also a hell of a franchise. We’ll have to wait and see who picks up the remaining THQ IPs within the next few weeks. Also, seriously, why is Homefront not on this list? It boggles the mind that anyone would want that thing, especially over Darksiders or Red Faction.
