Grasshopper New Project

The fact that Killer Is Dead has yet to even launch isn’t stopping developer Grasshopper Manufacture from brainstorming its next project. Speaking to Famitsu (translated by Gematsu) famed director Suda51 shared some minor details regarding the fresh project. Some artwork was also showcased, teasing the world and female protagonist of the post-Killer Is Dead endeavor.

“It was drawn by Yusuke Kozaki, who did the art for No More Heroes,” stated Suda as he explained the project’s promotional artwork. “Because this is the first title to represent the rebirth of Grasshopper, I had a firm hand in the art direction. As the project meetings continued, the feeling of ‘depth’ became deeper. I would think, ‘Is it really good to use this as the final design?’ But usually someone would tell me to give it a break for a little while.”

Suda said that this game may come to next-gen hardware, which would certainly make sense as the new wave of consoles is already right around the corner. The dev stated that Grasshopper will be looking into online possibilities for the currently untitled game, which goes hand-in-hand with studio’s previous claims of utilizing parent company GungHo Online Entertainment’s social know-how to expand and create multiplayer experiences.
