Despite the fact that not all previous characters will appear in the new Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS, it looks like ol’ Captain Olimar has made it. Nintendo confirmed that the Pikmin protagonist would return (after making his series debut in Brawl).

Details are currently under wraps regarding Olimar, but it’s probable that he’ll have a lot of the same Pikmin-based moves as last time. Anyone who played as this particular fighter is well aware that he used the colorful critters as projectiles, tethers, and so on. He’s not the most conventional character, but in the right hands, he can be quite deadly.

So, who’s stoked about Olimar making a return to the Smash Bros. series? Personally, I’m hoping we get news on King Dedede making his triumphant return sooner rather than later.
