Microsoft recently announced that streaming and recording video on the Xbox One would require an Xbox Live Gold Account. Following suit, Sony has addressed the issue as it pertains to the PlayStation 4. Simply put, you won’t need a PlayStation Plus account to access the console’s video features.

When asked about it on Twitter, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida simply and matter-of-factly responded, “No.” Well, that’s definitely good to know.

It’s great that the recording and sharing of videos on the PlayStation 4 isn’t relegated to being a part of a paid service. And so the plot in this whole Microsoft versus Sony tale thickens.
