Volume

Indie developer Mike Bithell has announced that he is currently working on a project titled Volume. The game appears to be heavily rooted in stealth gameplay, tasking players to sneak around to steal collectibles while avoiding enemies. There will also be a level editor, as evidenced by the game’s trailer, allowing players to create and share their very own stages.

Volume looks like a potentially great deal of fun. More details will follow, with story info set to be revealed at GameCity in Nottingham, England this October. Additionally, a build of the game will be playable at this year’s Eurogamer Expo, which will take place in London, England from September 26 to September 29.

Bithell’s previous endeavor was Thomas Was Alone, a lovely puzzle-platformer about friendship. Composer David Housden, who provided some truly great music for that game, will return to write the score for Volume. The game is due out sometime in 2014.
